The remit of the International Relations Committee (CRI) is to advise the President of the PSD on the conduct of the Party’s international relations in accordance with the General Policy Guidelines on International Relations (GLORI).

The CRI has the following remit in particular:

• To study the issues and offer a perspective that assists in clarifying the political debate;
• To give its opinion on legislative initiatives;
• To carry out activities aimed at furthering the GLORI;
• To contribute to involving civil society in the political debate and the modernisation of Portugal’s role against the background of globalisation;
• To contribute to the development of a foreign policy aimed at cooperation and development.

The Standing Orders of the CRI, which lay down the rules governing the Committee’s functioning, were published in “Povo Livre” on 5 May 2010.
